Joplin relief team: spots still open
We have seen the footage, heard the cries, and had our hearts wrenched from a distance as so many suffer. If you are wanting to go this week, we have an opportunity.
We will be meeting at Thursday at 4am at Oakland Nazarene Church to head out. As we pass through Kansas city we will join a larger caravan from Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe. It is through this partnership that we will have access into the town this week.
The following items would be helpful: Wheelbarrows Chain saws Rakes Gloves You will need to bring all the food and water you’ll require for two days. There are not places to purchase them where we are working. We will be taking crisis care kits and a decent supply of bottled water to give away. We will be staying over-night so please bring a sleeping bag and pillow. Our accommodations will be inside a house. Friday we will continue in the clean up effort, deliver goods to a family we have connected with, and then return home late in the night. If you are interested in joining please contact us ASAP.
